Our Story
Here’s a window into where we’ve come from, where we are, and where we think Jesus is taking us.

Past
Apostles Church Brooklyn was launched on September 22, 2013 by a motley crew of native New Yorkers, transplants who now call our city home, and an immeasurable amount of God's grace. Inspired by the Antioch church planters in Acts 11:19-26, we set out to plant a missional, multicultural, and multiplying community, centered on the gospel. From the beginning, we have existed to love Brooklyn with the good news of Jesus. In our eight years, we have witnessed friends and family being saved and baptized; needs being met with radical generosity; people of diverse cultures, races, and backgrounds reconcile; communities multiply across our borough; children and parents dedicated to Jesus; and justice being done for the poor, the hurting, and the homeless. The Father has either answered our prayers word for word or given us something far better.
Present
Today we are a thriving community who loves our city with the good news of Jesus. Spanning from Brownsville to Brooklyn Heights and from Bed-Stuy to Bay Ridge, our people are deepening in our single-minded love for Jesus and love for our neighbors. We are grateful for God's amazing grace and long to be further used to declare his gospel and demonstrate its renewing power.
Future
With confidence in Jesus' purpose and joy in the amazing family he's gathered among us, we look forward to the adventures still ahead. We want to see many more of our neighbors saved, our people more in love with and more like Jesus as they're sanctified, and Brooklyn renewed with the good news of the gospel.
We are not looking to build one impressive megachurch. Instead, as we love Brooklyn with the gospel, we desire to multiply Community Groups and, one day, church plants across our borough; further reconciliation among our diverse community; grow in our commitment to justice among our neighborhoods; and increase participation in international missions. These are our dreams for Apostles Church. And so we hope and pray in Jesus' name knowing that God will give us more than we can even ask or imagine.
Our Vision
Apostles Church Brooklyn exists to love Brooklyn with the good news of Jesus Christ.
Our Identity and Aim
We are the saved and sent people of Jesus.
SAVED: Our identity is founded on the gospel of Jesus Christ in which we are forgiven, adopted, and filled with the Holy Spirit.
SENT: We are sent by Jesus on his mission to declare and demonstrate the gospel to see people...
SAVED: We want to see the lost saved in the gospel of Jesus.
SANCTIFIED: We want to see believers made more in love with and more like Jesus.
RENEWED: We want to see our city and our world renewed as the Kingdom makes an impact for the glory of Jesus.
Apostles Church Brooklyn strives to be a prayer-saturated church of gospel-centered, multiplying communities who make disciples, plant churches, and engage the needs of Brooklyn.
Our Core Values
Our three core values are simply this: Gospel, Family, Mission.
GOSPEL: We live for what we love, so as Christians, we love Jesus and enjoy him by centering our lives on the good news of his life, death and resurrection and our identity in him as forgiven sinners, and cherished children of God. We must live chiefly as the saved people of Jesus.
FAMILY: God has provided a community of believers as a family to love, serve, and sync the rhythms of our lives to deepen our life in Jesus and to extend his grace to our friends and neighbors. As the saved people of Jesus, adopted as daughters and sons of the Father, we live together as a hospitable, intentional, adventurous, and transparent family.
MISSION: As we center on the gospel of Jesus, we extend his grace, love and mercy by prayerfully engaging the needs of our neighbors and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with them. We are sent together to share his good news with declaration and demonstration, word and deed, message and mercy. We join together in this adventure to see people saved, see believers sanctified, and see our city and world renewed.
